Now i'm home from Arran, it is all-systems-go for finalising which paintings are going to the Skye exhibition this year. Not much painting time left now as it is less than 2 weeks before i leave for Sardinia to teach, then as soon as we return, it is time to set up the exhibition. I call this my 'self-imposed exile' each summer, having 3 weeks on Skye to man the exhibition with Malc and the dogs...the only nervous element is 'Will anybody buy any'?!!!!!! it is no cheap exercise to set up these shows....ah - the challenges of life!! Here's a selection of work going in....

Just unpacking the art bag from my 3 day workshop I taught in Devon last weekend...the weather was glorious, the setting fantastic and although I had a small group of 5 ladies...we had lots of fun, laughter and great painting.
I will be returning to Dittisham in Devon in October for a workshop on Building a Painting Diary, one of my favourite travel pastimes! Seei if you can join in on 22-24 October later this year...the autumn colours will be splendid!! See www.coombefarmstudios.com for more details

Well, back home and now wanting to get on with lots of new Tuscan paintings - however the Skye exhibition looms and i can't do anything till I have lots more Scottish work prepared. Also gaining momentum on our Venice Paintaway in September - it is definately going ahead now, and we have room for more....spread the word folks, we know this place too, like the back of our hands!

Would you believe, I've been 10 days in Tuscany and not done a single pastel...not even a sketch! However I have been sketching in watercolour every day and my favourite soluble pens so the painting diary has plenty of exciting sketches to inspire me for pastel painting as soon as I get home! The group were mainly w/c students, and the weather caused us to do lots of quick sketching, rather than setting up with pastels in one place for any length of time - however it is truly inspiring here as ever - I have been coming here for over 15 years and have never tired of it yet - join me next year and see for yourselves!!
